This review of training and development for unpaid carers living in the Vale of Glamorgan will enable us to ascertain if there is a demand, both for existing and new courses or for other support/development.

Age Connects Cardiff and the Vale are pleased to announce that they have launched their Warm Welcome Lunch at the Wellbeing Centre on Holton Road on Wednesday 4th January 2023.

This has been made possible from grants given by the National Grid Community Fund and the Vale Council. It will enable Nicci the coordinator and the wonderful team of volunteers to remain open longer and to serve soup, a roll and a hot drink free of charge for up to 30 people a day Monday to Friday between 12 noon and 2pm until the end of March.

AXA and Business in the Community are partnering to deliver fully funded Youth Mental Health First Aid Champion training this Spring 2023. We know that the number of young people struggling with their mental health and wellbeing is higher now than ever before, with the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Cost-of-Living crisis having only exacerbated many of the triggers including poverty and inequality.  

This is a pilot to resource movements that are on the frontlines of social and environmental injustice, and who are striving for transformative change – a vision in which discrimination and domination in society no longer exist.

Supporting the provision of palliative and end of life care to people with low socioeconomic status in England and Wales with funding of up to £35,000.

The Community Action Fund exists to support grassroots campaigning and community organising in the UK. It will provide one-off grants between £2,500 and £20,000. 

Carers Trust is delighted to launch a new funding programme which will support unpaid carers living in Wales to access a short break from their caring role.

The Green Match Fund is designed specifically for charities working on environmental issues.

Guidance about cost of living related financial difficulties in charities.

This Fund will focus on organisations working to provide innovative care services for vulnerable people and carers that improve their quality of life.

The Disability Fund will provide support to organisations and groups supporting people living with disabilities in Wales.

Carers Trust are running a young carers and young adult carers survey. We are pleased to inform you that the closing date has now been extended to Sunday 15th January at 23:45.

The Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board has allocated £100,000 funding from the Welsh Government’s Housing with Care Fund, to support third sector community services in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Public Health experts are reminding parents in Wales to keep children away from school if they are unwell and have a fever, following an increase in illnesses like flu. It’s one of a number of simple steps parents can take to protect their child and to minimise the spread of winter illnesses when children return to schools and nurseries in Wales next week.
