Introducing Food Vale video
I am pleased to share with you the Introduction to Food Vale video, premiering live today at midday: It will also be streamed on our Facebook page.
The trailer-style video invites viewers to join the good food movement in the Vale, and outlines our 3 key areas of work in our charter. It was filmed with the help of pupils from Oak Field primary school, Ysgol Gwaun Y Nant and Pencoedtre High School in Barry.

Carers Trust Wales is carrying out a study on the needs and experiences of Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) carers in Wales. This will include both a traditional questionnaire/survey, and a range of in-depth interviews and focus groups.
Community Safety Engagement
The Community Safety Team have been visiting locations across Vale reminding people how they can report anti-social behaviour. We have also conducted patrols in areas where we have received reports of ASB or breaches of by-laws.
Vaccination Update - priority for household contacts of immunosuppressed
JCVI has advised that people over 16 who live with individuals with severely weakened immune systems should be offered COVID-19 vaccination as a priority.
Supporting Older People in the ValeThird Sector Preventative Interventions Fund 2021 - Covid-19
This revenue-only Fund aims to support proposals which respond to the Covid-19 crisis and improve health, wellbeing and independence. The overall aim is for older people to remain living in, and engaging with, their communities for as long as they wish. The Fund is open for applications from Tuesday 4th May 2021, with a deadline for submission of 12 noon on Friday, 11th June 2021.
ICF Dementia Friendly Communities Fund 2021-2022 (REVENUE FUNDING)
£22,500 available for spend in the financial year ending end March 2022. Deadline for submissions 12noon, Friday May 14th 2021
Covid vaccine: Sore arm and headache most common side effects
The most common side effects of the Covid-19 vaccines are pain or tenderness at the injection site - in other words, a sore arm - a UK study has suggested. Roughly one in four people had wider effects like fever, headache, nausea and fatigue.
