GVS launches the Third Sector Small Grants Scheme - Community Action

Welcome to the 2024 Project SEARCH student intake
Last week Cardiff and Vale UHB welcomed the new intake of students through the Project SEARCH pre-employment programme. Nine students have joined the health board - five full time and four part time - who will be working in a range of areas across the health board over the next year to gain skills and experience.

My name is Matthew Stevens, and I am a Trussell Trust campaign coordinator (based in Taff Ely Foodbank but working with foodbanks and communities across RCT, Bridgend, and the Vale of Glamorgan). I am working on a campaign created by Trussell Trust and Joseph Rowntree Foundation - Guarantee our Essentials - which seeks to encourage the government to reform universal credit in a way that stops it from forcing people from having to choose between heating their homes and feeding their families.

In The Spotlight - Holly SanMiguel
‘In the Spotlight’ this month is Holly SanMiguel. Holly first experienced Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital as a patient when her son was born with a large ventricular septal defect, then served as a volunteer, before becoming a Children's Health Care Support Worker in the Paediatric Emergency Unit.
