Barry Hospital has been home to the Vale of Glamorgan’s sole Mass Vaccination Centre (MVC) since 22nd April, 2023. While the location of the centre is relatively new, the team behind the scenes certainly isn’t.   

As the summer draws to a close and schools prepare to return, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Chris Jones, is reminding people to stay at home and avoid contact with others if they are unwell and have a high temperature.

Health Minister Eluned Morgan has confirmed Wales will extend the NHS Wales Bursary scheme to eligible healthcare students studying in the 2024-25 academic year, and allow them to access the full amount of maintenance loan in addition to the Bursary.

Calon Chorus community singing sessions will return after a summer break on 7th September 2023.

Fertility Network UK is looking at the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on fertility patients and they will release the data during Fertility Week 30 Oct – 5 Nov 23. We know the current situation is affecting already struggling fertility patients and we feel it’s vital to find out more about this, so we can make sure patients are supported as much as possible.

The regular Calon Chorus community singing sessions will return after a summer break on 7 September. Calon Chorus is open to anyone who has loved and lost someone with dementia.

The Parkinson’s UK Physical Activity Grants Programme supports activity providers, communities, networks, organisations and others with grants up of to £3000 to develop opportunities for people with Parkinson’s to become and stay active.

The Be Active Wales Fund offers grants from £300 to £50,000 to sports clubs and community organisations to support projects that promote equality, sustainability and innovation in sport.

Up to £30,000 to support work that gives people of all ages opportunities to understand, participate in and enjoy the performing arts.
