As one of the key investment priorities is ‘Community and Place’ this would be a great opportunity to discuss how our voluntary sector in the Vale can utilise this fund to deliver some great outcomes over the next three years.

On Monday, June 13th, it’s been announced that the Vale of Glamorgan has been awarded Bronze Sustainable Food Places status, becoming only the second place in Wales to achieve the prestigious accolade.

National Blood Donor Week is a week raising awareness of the lifesaving importance of blood donation to encourage those who have never donated to give it a go.

Men’s Health Week, from the 13th to 19th of June, was founded in 1994 to help raise visibility on the statistics of men being more likely than women to die from many of these conditions.

Grants of up to £10,000 available to support disabled children and children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

The Asda Foundation is committed to supporting local communities through grant giving with up to £1500 available.

Capital grants usually between £2,000 and £50,000 are available to UK registered charities that are working in the areas of conservation and the protection and improvement of the UK’s physical and natural environment.

UK Government has just launched the second round of the Community Ownership Fund to help communities take ownership of local assets and amenities at risk of closure.
