Without the work of the volunteers, the high brown fritillary butterfly would not have survived in the Vale of Glamorgan, which is now the only place in Wales where the high brown fritillary lives.

Paul Dunn is a long-term volunteer with Butterfly Conservation in the Vale of Glamorgan and former Senior Ranger at the Heritage Coast. 

The project aims to provide meaningful volunteering opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and mental health support needs, while also enhancing the biodiversity along the River Thaw in the Vale of Glamorgan.

We need people to record the High Brown Fritillary, at its last remaining location in Wales, the Vale of Glamorgan. This data is used to inform decisions which help to conserve butterflies and moths, both locally and nationally.
