Following advice from the UK Health Security Agency and in the light of the rapid increase in Omicron cases, the UK Chief Medical Officers and NHS England National Medical Director have recommended to Ministers that the UK COVID Alert Level should increase from Level 3 to Level 4.

The Council is consulting on its draft Annual Delivery Plan for 2022-23. The draft Annual Delivery Plan sets out the actions we will undertake in 2022-23 as part of the delivery of the Council’s Corporate Plan for 2020 – 25.  The Corporate Plan sets our priorities for a five year period whilst the draft Annual Delivery Plan details what we will take forward in 2022-23.

We need to fill several different roles to help us get the COVID vaccine to communities across Cardiff and the Vale as quickly as possible. You will be joining a great team, at a critical time in the programme as the vaccine effort continues.

The First Minister is urging everyone to have their COVID-19 booster vaccine as he warned Wales is facing a new wave of infections caused by the Omicron variant.

Health Minister Eluned Morgan has today (Thursday 9th December) announced plans to increase capacity for identifying the Omicron variant in Wales.

In March this year we launched our Diabetes UK Cymru Befriending Circle which provides people with phone and email-based peer support. We match people with our trained volunteers based on their experience of diabetes.

The latest phase of the Welsh Government’s Keep Wales Safe campaign which aims to ‘disrupt the transmission’ of COVID-19 is launching today (Monday 6 December).

The Cardiff Council and Vale of Glamorgan Council in partnership with Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) and Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) have allocated £30,000 in total, to fund innovative third sector sustainable preventative community activities and services in Cardiff and the Vale. The Fund is administered by C3SC in partnership with GVS. Deadline for applications is 5pm on 7th January 2022
