Welcome to this first Carers Wales Bulletin. We have created this bulletin to give a brief snapshot of our work. We will be sending these bulletins on a regular basis and I welcome your feedback on the contents.

The Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board has agreed a set of key aims and objectives to improve the health and wellbeing of the population across the region. The Regional Partnership Board will be hosting a number of workshops with third sector organisations over the coming months. Our first workshop will be held online on the 15th July 10am-12pm with organisations providing services to adults aged 18+

June 17th marked a very special day for one of the Rookwood patients. It was on ward A7 where patient Lee and his partner, Michael, got married!

The results of the latest ‘How Are We Doing in Wales’ public engagement survey have been released by Public Health Wales.

Throughout the pandemic young people from schools across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan have been helping older adults stay steady on their feet, by taking part in the Staying Steady Schools project.  

Versus Arthritis are distributing grants of up to £5,000 to support people with musculoskeletal conditions including arthritis to get active.

A lifesaving programme to help improve survival rates after a cardiac arrest is being supported with almost £2.5m over the next three years by the Welsh Government.

On the anniversary of birth of the NHS, Health and Social Services Minister Eluned Morgan has written to all NHS CEOs, Chief Executives and staff, including those working in social care, to thank them for their efforts over the course of the pandemic.

The NHS in Wales has been honoured with The George Cross in recognition of the incredible effort of all those working in the NHS during the pandemic.

As there has been a 90% increase in consumer scams due to COVID-19, costing the economy between £5-10 billion. In response to this Citizens Advice Cardiff and Vale, in partnership with Trading Standards want to increase our engagement with local businesses, organisations and community groups to help raise awareness of scams within our local communities.

Commercial photocopier (mono and colour) surplus to requirement which is available for any charitable organisation that would benefit from having it.

Members of Barry Community Choir have reunited for rehearsals and we are looking to expand the Choir so that we are able to perform again.
