NHS Wales waiting list and longest waits down
The latest monthly fall in the waiting list, a 23,400 drop from October to November, is the biggest monthly reduction on record. It is also the sixth consecutive month the waiting list has been cut.
People in Wales can now track their NHS waiting list progress on the app
People across Wales can now see where they are on NHS waiting lists using the NHS Wales App.
The latest update lets people who have been added to a waiting list since December check their waiting list status, view their referral into hospital care, and access information to help manage their health while waiting for treatment.
Final preparations being put in place for roll out of women's health hubs
Final preparations are underway for the launch of new NHS services in all parts of Wales to improve access to vital healthcare services for women.
The first pathfinder women’s health hub will open before the end of January, with hubs in place in each health board area by early March.
New powers to protect NHS staff come into force in Wales
New legal protections for NHS staff against nuisance and disruptive behaviour in hospitals have come into force in Wales.
The changes create a specific offence of causing nuisance or disturbance on NHS premises and give the police and authorised NHS officers the power to remove people.

As part of this, we offer the VRF, which awards fast emergency grants of up to £500 to help people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

On March 23rd Carers Wales will host an All-Wales Carers Assembly. By attending you will have the opportunity to hear from and engage with senior policy makers and leaders of services and take part in open discussions and collaborative workshops designed to capture real experiences and practical ideas

First Aid Awareness Course for Unpaid Carers – Spaces still available
On Friday 30 January 2026, 10am – 2pm, The Vale of Glamorgan Council are offering a four-hour course on First Aid Awareness for unpaid carers who live in the Vale.
