If you are on our centralised waiting list for an NHS dentist, and have not yet responded to the text message or letter sent out in January, you will receive a text message from NHS Wales this week.

We are seeing an increase in COVID-19 infections and other respiratory viruses across Cardiff and Vale, including within our hospitals and across community settings.

The Welsh Government has announced key changes to the COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Programme.

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is holding a two recruitment events simultaneously on 30 March this year, showcasing roles for nurses, midwives, as well as HCSW (Healthcare Support Workers). The event will be held at the Cochrane Building, University Hospital of Wales.

The healthcare team at HMP Cardiff work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that are involved in providing care to prisoners with a wide range of mental and physical health problems, organising admissions and the discharge of prisoners, and assessing, planning and evaluating care.

"It is essential that unpaid carers are supported to prioritise their own health and well-being alongside caring."

That’s the message from Deputy Minister for Social Services Julie Morgan ahead of Young Carers Action Day, and as the Welsh Government’s publishes its first annual report for the Carers Delivery Plan.

Health Minister Eluned Morgan has today announced increased funding to widen access to Wales’ long-Covid services, including for people experiencing other long-term conditions.

Dangos, the free online financial awareness training project in Wales, has been renewed for a third year by Welsh Government.  This year Dangos is extending from its basic and intermediate courses to offer more dedicated sessions:

-   Support for children and young people 

- Support for older people and those in need of care 

Applications are open now until Friday, March 24th, 2023.

Tell Us Once is free to use and makes it easier to report a death to government departments and local council services. Your local registrar will advise you on how to use the service – this can be face-to-face, online or by phone.

The Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board in partnership with Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) and Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) have allocated £283,800 in total, to support unpaid carers with short breaks from their caring role. The Fund is administered by C3SC in partnership with GVS. The programme is open for applications from 20th February 2023 with a deadline for submission of 31st March 2023.
