Delivering physical activity in Barry? Golden Pass to provide eight free sessions for selected residents

The Healthy Living Team at Vale of Glamorgan Council are proudly working in partnership with Cardiff & Vale University Health Board, Sport Wales and a host of third sector organisations to improve physical activity and sport opportunities for residents aged 60+ focusing on communities of highest need across the Vale of Glamorgan.

A 'Golden Pass' scheme has been designed and we are taking expressions of interest from all organisations, sports clubs and activity providers currently delivering physical activity and sport opportunities for people aged 60+ in Barry.

The Golden Pass will provide eight free sessions for selected residents in activity that is already running in Barry. This means for each provider signed up, and for every participant with a Golden Pass, we will fund their place for eight weeks with a view to helping them build their physical activity habit with your provision! Free provision can also be included on the scheme, we can provide refreshment costs for each participant for 8 weeks as a thank you for you supporting the scheme.

If you would like to be registered as a Golden Pass Provider, please complete this expression of interest form and we will be in touch to confirm further details about how the scheme will work and how your organisation can benefit.

Please note the Golden Pass scheme is ONLY for existing activities that are already established and sustainable in Barry. The Healthy Living Team are also launching the 'Golden Fund' which is specifically designed to support new activities targeting residents aged 60+; this is available across the Vale of Glamorgan and not just Barry.
