Public Health Wales statement on monkeypox
Richard Firth, Consultant in Health Protection for Public Health Wales, said:
“Public Health Wales is today (2 December) confirming that no additional cases of monkeypox have been identified in Wales. The total in Wales remains at 47. The cases are being managed appropriately. To protect patient confidentiality, no further details relating to patients will be disclosed.”

An update regarding pressures on maternity services
Our Health Board continues to face extreme pressures across services which includes maternity. In July, the Health Board unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to suspend home birthing services until October 2022 to alleviate workforce pressures in hospital midwifery settings. Home birthing services remain temporarily suspended, but the team are committed to doing their best to re-establish a home birthing service as soon as possible.
Strengthening substance misuse support for young people and families
The Welsh Government is currently consulting on how substance misuse treatment services for young people and families are provided in Wales.
Vale of Glamorgan Council Consultation – Annual Delivery Plan 2023-24
The Council is consulting on its draft Annual Delivery Plan for 2023-24. The draft Annual Delivery Plan sets out the actions we will undertake in 2023-24 as part of the delivery of the Council’s Corporate Plan for 2020 – 25. The Corporate Plan sets our priorities for a five year period whilst the draft Annual Delivery Plan details what we will take forward in 2023-24. The closing date for comments is the 8th January 2023.
