NYLO is a free 6 week programme that can help you feel more confident to provide a balanced diet for your child and help them to be a healthy weight. Weekly group starting at Barry Island Community Centre on the 8th June 2022.

The introductory event of the Towards a Social Prescribing Evaluation Framework was on Thursday 26th May. If you and your team/organisation are interested in taking part in the evaluation framework, please contact Lisa Griffiths to arrange a meeting with the team from the Welsh School for Social Prescribing Research who are undertaking this work. This would be to understand the work you do and what being part of the framework would entail.

We’re delighted to announce the launch of the new Dementia Friendly Vale website – a community resource created to increase the support of people affected by dementia across the Vale of Glamorgan. The website has been developed by Dementia Friendly Cowbridge in partnership with Rotary Cowbridge, and supported by Marie Curie.

Chief Medical Officer for Wales statement on COVID-19 review: 26 May 2022.

Following an unprecedented period of disruption and uncertainty, we know that many people have experienced trauma and poor mental health. The pandemic has widened inequalities for many people in Wales and those who were vulnerable at the beginning are now facing higher levels of distress than ever before. At this ongoing difficult time, Samaritans Cymru is proud to launch a new resource for Wales, which is for anyone struggling to cope.

Video appointments have prevented more than 200 tonnes of CO2 emissions since being introduced by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

We are currently  low in O blood types and it is vital we maximise attendance at all our clinics over the coming weeks to meet demand at hospitals across Wales .

The Limbless Association (LA) is a national limb loss charity, which has been supporting amputees and their families across the UK since 1983.

We provide free, high-quality information, advice and support to anyone pre- or post-amputation or living with congenital limb loss - by phone, email and online.

‘Fair work’ is a critical building block for good health and well-being, and a healthy engaged workforce contributes to business productivity and societal prosperity, concludes a report and guide published by Public Health Wales.

Public Health Wales is reminding people who visit farm attractions of the importance of washing their hands after contact with animals.

Public Health Wales is working with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) as well as Public Health Scotland (PHS) and Public Health Agency (Northern Ireland) to investigate cases of acute hepatitis in children.

Public Health Wales is working with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), Public Health Scotland, and Public Health Agency Northern Ireland to respond to UK cases of monkeypox.

The study, published in the British Journal of Cancer this month, found that over a thousand fewer new cases of three common cancers were diagnosed in Wales in 2020 compared to 2019, equivalent to a reduction of 15 percent.
