Join a new networking group to promote community activity in Barry

GVS and the Vale of Glamorgan Council are involved in the development of a new networking group to promote and raise awareness of community activity taking place in Barry. While there are several fantastic community groups and charities running in Barry, the aim of this new group is to increase awareness of this activity as well potentially identifying gaps in provision and opportunities for joint working.

Two events have been arranged. The first will bring together groups, council staff and members of the public to gauge interest and discuss the proposed networking group and how such a group can benefit the local community.

The second event will be the first official meeting of the new networking group, which we hope will run quarterly. It will be attended by Nathan Butler from the National Lottery Community Fund who will discuss current funding opportunities available to community groups, social enterprises and charities.

Both events will be held in Victoria Park Community Centre, Cadoxton, Church Road, Barry, CF63 1JY. The first takes place on the 12th of March from 5 – 6pm, and the second event will take place on the 19th of March from 5 – 6pm.
