East Vale Community Transport Celebrates 40 Years of Service to the Vale

East Vale Community Transport marked an amazing milestone on 18 June 2026 as more than 100 people came together to celebrate 40 years of dedicated service to the local community.

Volunteer drivers, trustees, Councillors, service users and supporters gathered to honour four decades of providing essential, accessible transport for residents across the Vale. The celebration was filled with energy and community spirit, with entertainment from Mark Thompson, Deano and a U3A choir led by John, creating a truly memorable atmosphere.

Representatives from partner organisations, including Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS), Age Connect, and Home Instead, joined the event to show their appreciation for East Vale’s 40 years of door-to-door transport service. Special thanks to Michelle Kelsall from the Community Transport Association, who captured the day with fantastic photographs, and to Sue Stephens, Co-ordinator of Penarth Seniors Club, for her invaluable support.

For 40 years, East Vale Community Transport has been a lifeline for many—connecting people, reducing isolation, and strengthening community ties. Their commitment, powered by volunteers and community goodwill, continues to make a profound difference.

Congratulations to East Vale Community Transport on this remarkable anniversary. Here’s to the next 40 years of impact, connection and community.
