Accredited Mental Health First Aid Training Coming to Cowbridge This August
Chatfield Training, in partnership with With Music in Mind, is delivering a two‑day 'QNUK Level 3 Award for Mental Health First Aiders (RQF)' course this August, offering local residents and professionals the opportunity to gain essential skills in recognising and responding to mental health challenges.
The accredited course will run on Tuesday 11th and Friday 14th August, 9am–4pm, at Y Galon, The Broad Shoard, Cowbridge, CF71 7DA. Led by an experienced and certified Mental Health First Aid instructor, the training provides participants with the confidence and knowledge to offer initial support to someone experiencing a mental health issue or crisis.
Attendees will explore a wide range of topics including stress, depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, psychosis, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, eating disorders, self‑injury, suicide, and more. The course is designed for anyone wishing to improve their understanding of mental health - whether in a workplace, community, or personal setting.
“We’re proud to bring a different kind of training to the Vale - one that skips the polished scripts in favour of real, honest conversations” said Kimberley, Owner and Lead Trainer at Chatfield Training. “Knowing how to step up and talk about mental health can be tough, but it's a critical skill, especially when stigma still creates a barrier to recognition and support. Early intervention saves lives, and this course equips people with the practical tools to support others with genuine confidence and compassion.”
The course is available for just £160 per person for the two-day course (please note - you'll need to attend both days in order to gain this qualification).
