Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme

Ofgem’s Energy Redress Scheme funds projects that make a difference for energy consumers in vulnerable situations and a cleaner energy future. So far we’ve awarded over £246 million, reaching over a million households.
What funding is available?
Charities and community energy groups can apply for funds to deliver energy related projects that meet the scheme priorities such as benefiting energy consumers in vulnerable situations across England, Scotland and Wales.
There are four funding streams organisations can apply to – each relate to a scheme priority. When applying for funding you should consider which priority your project supports.
Grants start at £20,000 and can cover up to 100% of project costs. Below are the different funds available:
Core priority - Supporting energy consumers in vulnerable situations
Main and Small Fund
For projects that support energy consumers in vulnerable situations and help people who are most at risk from cold homes and high energy bills.
Small Fund: Min £20,000 | Max £50,000Main Fund: Min £50,000Up to 2 years and 100% project costs
Impact Fund
This fund aims to measure the impact of grant funded projects to support energy consumers in vulnerable situations, by piloting robust monitoring methods.

Priority
Priority - Developing innovative products and services related to energy
Innovation Fund
Supporting the development of innovative products and services, that benefit energy consumers and help to reduce the environmental impact of energy use.

Priority - Reducing carbon dioxide emissions from energy use
Carbon Emissions Reduction Fund (CERF)
Supporting energy-related activities aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions from energy use. These projects must focus on energy generation, distribution or energy use.

Just Transition Fund
This fund aims to accelerate the development of community renewable energy schemes and build the capacity of the sector to deliver impactful renewable energy projects that promote a just transition to net zero.
