Who’s GVS and what do they do?

GVS

Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) is an independent registered charity and has a flourishing membership of over 700 organisations operating in the Vale of Glamorgan.

GVS helps to improve the quality of life of people and communities by supporting volunteers, promoting volunteering opportunities and being a one stop shop for Third Sector organisations such as charities or community groups like choirs, scout groups, sports clubs, health and interest organisations to name but a few.

GVS delivers an array of quality services and we offer new and existing organisations free advice on all aspects of governance, funding, volunteering and more. We also offer discounted practical services such as Third Sector relevant training and briefing sessions, low cost printing and professional design work.

Membership is free if your organisation’s income is under £16,000 per annum. Membership fees are very little for organisations with higher incomes and anyone can join GVS as an Associate Member free of charge!

Dorothy Connell from the Barry Male Voice Choir who are members of GVS, recently said:

“GVS has filled a skills deficit in our group, saved our group expenditure, helped our group find external funding sources and publicised our events via GVS website and newsletter.

“We would like to thank GVS for its support to our Choir and other groups in the third sector. The staff are knowledgeable, professional and approachable - nothing is too much trouble. GVS is an invaluable resource and the Vale is very fortunate to have such an effective organisation helping voluntary groups in our local communities.”

So if you are interested in setting up an organisation or work with an existing organisation who operates in the Vale of Glamorgan, we'd love to hear from you!
