Welsh Government funded project – FREE TRAINING AND SUPPORT

We’d like to give you some very good news about Dangos, the Welsh Government funded project to raise awareness amongst frontline workers about benefits and other financial help for people in need.

Dangos has been tremendously successful, in both demand for sessions and the feedback from attendees.

The original target for Dangos sessions has been met and exceeded, very quickly, but Welsh Government has been able to provide extra funding to provide additional free sessions.

This means that we are able to offer more sessions now, running up the end date of September.

We have put more sessions, in both Teams and Zoom, on the Eventbrite page, for sessions in both English and Welsh, for individual’s bookings.

We are also able to offer more in-house sessions to organisation, between 10 and 20 in each session,  so that teams can share the training.

We are also able to consider offering sessions in other community languages as well as in Welsh and English.

As a reminder of what Dangos offers, it’s made up of three-hour long on-line sessions, which are very interactive,  supported by a short information pack, and, for those who want it, free access to more detailed e-learning courses about the benefits system and how it works.

Dangos aims to increase the knowledge and awareness about the availability of help for frontline workers. That is people who are in day-to-day contact, whether paid or voluntary, with families who might need extra help.

We aren’t going to try to turn people into benefit experts or advisers, just to give them some more knowledge and information about what help there is and some tips in encouraging people to take up their rights.

The Dangos websites give more details and allow people to register, individually, for sessions.

The websites are at www.dangos.wales and www.dangos.cymru

We are asking you to encourage your staff and volunteers, where appropriate, to take part in this important initiative. Just by being a little bit more aware of what help is around and of the type of families who might be able to get it, they can make a big difference to people’s lives.

If you would like any more information, or are interested in in-house sessions, please contact us at info@dangos.cymru or info@dangos.wales
