Welsh Charities week is taking place from 9 – 13 February 2026

Join us as we shine a light on the amazing work of charities, voluntary organisations, community groups and volunteers in Wales and call on people to ‘donate/volunteer/champion’.

Play your part, change lives…

WHAT IS WELSH CHARITIES WEEK?

Welsh Charities Week, sponsored by Utility Aid, is a chance to recognise and celebrate all the work that people and organisations across the voluntary sector in Wales do to shine a bit of light in the dark. It’s an opportunity to come together and show appreciation, to remind people that what they do makes a difference.

Welsh Charities week is taking place from 9 – 13 February 2026. Wales has a long, storied history of volunteering and voluntary action, something that remains a big part of Welsh culture today. Charities are not only a lifeline for the most vulnerable they are there for people in the good times and the bad, taking seemingly small steps that add up to a big difference.

This year, in the run up to a pivotal Senedd Elections, we need people across Wales to understand just how vital our sector is to the wellbeing of Wales. That’s why we’re challenging people to ‘Play your part, change lives’, encouraging more people to get involved in the voluntary sector, with a call to action to ‘donate/volunteer/champion’.

HOW TO TAKE PART

Charities – shout loud and proud about your impact!

If you’re a charity, voluntary organisation or community group and interested in taking part this year, why not…

  • SHARE A SHORT VIDEO: Create a video about your work on social media and remember to use #WelshCharitiesWeek. We’ve created a simple guide on how to create your video that can be found on the Welsh Charities Week website.

  • HIGHLIGHT YOUR STAFF OR VOLUNTEERS: Tell the world about a staff member, volunteer or team and the difference they make by posting on social media, or organise a celebration for them. Post your thank you message and any photos you might have on social media using #WelshCharitiesWeek (please make sure you have the consent of everyone featured).

  • SHARE THE CAMPAIGN PACK: Send the Welsh Charities Week campaign pack to your friends, supporters and partners and ask them to support your work by getting involved in Welsh Charities Week.

Let’s work together to show how incredible our sector is by highlighting the inspirational work that takes place 365 days of the year.
