  • Health

  • Lifelong Learning

  • Climate Change and Environment

  • Sustainable Livelihoods

Please ensure that you have read the guidance document on the WCVA website before beginning your request for funding.

PREVIOUSLY FUNDED PROJECTS

With support from the Wales and Africa Grant Scheme, Engineers for Overseas Development (EFOD) delivered vital sanitation infrastructure at Faith Nursery and Primary School in Bukedea, Uganda. Responding to unsafe and unhygienic conditions, EFOD volunteers worked with local builders to construct two toilet blocks using locally sourced materials and ecological sanitation systems, improving health, dignity and access to education for 170 children and staff.

Twenty young engineers from across Wales contributed to the project on site and remotely, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in sustainable design, budget management and intercultural collaboration. Their involvement not only strengthened local capacity but also deepened their professional skills and global awareness.
