Volunteers are the lifeblood of voluntary organisations and community groups

Georgia Parker, Barry Good Neighbours Scheme Manager says, “I recruit volunteers to Befriend older people who are socially isolated and experiencing loneliness. Volunteers can also assist clients with shopping and transportation.  The kindness of volunteers carrying out these missions is a lifeline for clients and allows them to maintain a level of independence in their home. This very beneficial service would not be able to run without our amazing, dedicated volunteers who really make a difference to older people’s lives. It is so important to individuals who rarely see a friendly face, as volunteers bring the outside world and allows them to talk to someone.”

Volunteering is for everybody.  Why not give it a try?
