The Acquisition Grant Fund
This rolling grant supports local and independent Accredited Museums in Wales to develop core collections, including Portable Antiquities items. Grants of up to £20,000 are available, with no match funding required, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Objective of fund:
This funding has been provided by the Welsh Government and administered by the Welsh Museum Federation to support organisations to meet the Priorities for Culture, in particular:
Priority 3: Culture is resilient and sustainable – organisations caring for our historic places and collections have strategic approaches to recognising significance and collecting (A15.).
Who can apply
This grant is to support local and independent Accredited Museums (including Working Towards) in Wales to develop their core collections through the purchase of items including but not limited to items becoming available under the Portable Antiquities scheme.

The maximum grant available is £20,000.00. There is no minimum. No match funding is required. This is a rolling grant programme with funding available on a first come first serve basis.
What we will fund
- Objects or collections of objects that enhance an organisations core collection in line with collection development policies and plans.
