NFU Mutual Charitable Trust
Grants of £1,000 to £75,000 are available to charitable organisations who support farming and rural communities. Larger awards are generally reserved for organisations that demonstrate a significant impact on rural communities.
Organisations may submit only one funding application per calendar year, specifying the total amount required for the year. There is no limit to the number of times you can apply for funding year on year. However, if an application is unsuccessful, it is likely that a further request for the same thing will receive the same outcome unless it has been substantially revised and meets the majority of the NFU funding priorities.
Eligibility
Open to all types of charitable organisations. Before applying you will need to meet the following criteria:
• Your organisation delivers services across a large region, nationally, or throughout the UK. (The Trust prioritises funding for larger initiatives with significant rural impact.)
• You have been delivering services for at least one year and are currently delivering these services.
• Your organisation is compliant with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Your request does not include university fees, salaries, or overseas appeals, as these are not eligible for funding.
• You have an up-to-date safeguarding policy in place.
• You have a designated Safeguarding Lead/Officer (DSL/O).
• You hold valid public liability insurance.
• If you provide therapy or counselling services, your practitioners are registered with a Professional Standards Authority-accredited register, and you have
processes in place for regular registration checks.
How to apply?
All requests for funding should be submitted using the application form, available on their website, along with any required supporting documents before the deadline.
The Trustees review applications twice a year, with meetings currently held in June and December.
Applications for the June 2026 have a submission deadline of 24th April 2026.
The application window for the December 2026 deadline is TBC.
