New Toolkit to Support Community Hustings

Dear colleagues,

Once again, thank you for collaborating with us last summer and hosting local workshops to build Thriving Welsh Communities, a manifesto built by communities, for communities.

Following the manifesto launch in November, we’ve been focusing on developing our new How to Organise a Hustings Toolkit, created to help community groups plan and run inclusive and well‑organised hustings events. It includes practical guidance, templates, and tips covering planning, promotion, accessibility, and event delivery.

We hope this resource will be useful for the organisations and communities you work with, particularly as we approach the upcoming election period. Please do share the toolkit widely within your networks, linking back to our website or Padlet wherever possible. We’re also very happy if you want to use elements of these resources locally.

We, as Building Communities Trust, will also be organising an online national hustings event, focusing on the importance of community action and the policy asks contained in the manifesto. This is scheduled to take place in the early evening of Tuesday April 14th online and we will share further details in due course.
