The Community Matters Fund supports community organisations to help address fuel poverty and ensure energy affordability across economically disadvantaged areas by targeting grassroots organisations that serve historically underrepresented and marginalised groups. Registered charities and non-profit companies can apply for up to £5k. Smaller constituted community organisations up to £2k. Deadline 24th Oct. Volunteering Wales Main Grant Scheme offers funding of up to up to £30k per annum for up to two years. The fund aims to increase volunteer engagement and satisfaction by removing barriers to volunteering for people of all ages and from all parts of society, support the creation and development of high quality and positive volunteering opportunities in Wales and promote changes in beneficiary organisations to embed volunteering into their working practices and culture. Wales and Africa Grant Scheme - Round 2: Working with Sub Saharan African partners, organisations can apply for grants between £5,000 - £25,000 to make a tangible contribution to one of the four following themes: Health; Lifelong Learning; Climate Change and Environment & Sustainable Livelihoods. National Churches Trust Large Grants > £50,000 towards major urgent structural repair works over £80,000 including VAT for urgent repairs or over £30,000 for facilities. Will also consider projects that introduce kitchens and accessible toilets to enable increased community use (costed at more than £30k including VAT) Deadline: 4th Nov. The Landfill Disposals Tax Communities Scheme (LDTCS) funds projects with grants of £5,000 – £49,000 near certain waste transfer stations or landfill sites, with a focus on biodiversity; waste minimisation and the reduction of waste to landfill, and wider environmental enhancements. The Tree Council Branching Out Fund: schools, community groups, parish and town councils, and tree warden networks can apply for grants of between £250 and £2,500 to engage communities and young people aged up to 21 in planting and caring for trees, hedges, and orchards. The funding can cover the cost of trees, hedges, and orchards; reasonable costs of non-plastic protection and supports, as well as peat-free compost and/or soil improvers. Deadline 14th Nov. AIM Contactless Donations Grants – Wales up to £4,000 funding to purchase contactless donation points in Welsh museums. Also covers upgrades to electrical and Wi-Fi infrastructure, and one year of subscription fees/licences. Deadline 14th Nov. Welsh Government Equality & Inclusion Grant Programme: There are two strands:

  • Innovation and Partnership Working to Tackle Inequality and Promote Inclusion Grants from £40,000. The fund is designed to support collaborative bids that exhibit resource pooling, and intersectional support. Grassroots organisations can apply as collaborators with a lead incorporated third sector organisation.

  • Awareness and Engagement grants of £2,000–£9,999 for smaller scale initiatives & £10,000–£100,000 for larger. This fund focuses on awareness and engagement to promote equality and inclusion. Welsh Government Perthyn Grant Scheme: Up to £10,000 revenue funding per group to support with start-up fees during the early stages of developing social enterprises, co operatives, community-led housing or community land trusts through the medium of Welsh. Groups will need to demonstrate the Welsh language is central to their initiative and future delivery. Deadline 21st Nov. Shroeder Charitable Trust: Grants of £5,000 for charities with an annual income of £150k - £1million that enable children and young adults to achieve their potential in education and employment or strengthen communities and improve the life chances of vulnerable people.
