Who can apply

. For the Fit for Future Facilities Programme, Projects:

a. Must benefit one or more of the following Impact Categories:

i. Improved Experiences and Environments: Enabling Participation Growth and/or

Retention

ii. Stronger and More Sustainable Community-Focused Clubs

iii. Improving Facilities and Environments for Women and Girls

iv. Tackling Inequalities: Improving Quality of and Access to Facilities in Deprived

Communities

v. Tackling Inequalities: Improving Quality of and Access to Facilities for Participants

with a Disability or from Ethnically Diverse Communities

Restrictions

INELIGIBLE PROJECTS / ITEMS

Work that will not be considered as part of an application

❖ Replacement of like-for-like existing facilities (as distinct from upgrades)

❖ Temporary items of equipment, personal equipment, or small items of equipment with a limited life expectancy such as bibs, cones, or balls.

❖ Items such as tables, chairs for club house or community room developments will be considered in line with a full upgrade or new development but will not be considered as individual equipment requests.

❖ Projects that have already commenced.

❖ Speculative purchases of land or facilities in advance/separate to the delivery of the final project.

❖ Speculative feasibility studies, development funding for training and education or salaried posts.

❖ Facility hire charges, maintenance and operational costs

❖ Applications to improve football grounds for the purposes of meeting league requirements and licence criteria, as the FAW’s specialist WGI programme is specifically designed for these purposes. Please contact Ian Fisher for more information on this programme – ian.fisher@faw.cymru

Eligible expenditure

A capital grants fund. ‘Capital’ means a tangible infrastructure, permanent asset or fixtures and upgrades/improvements as part of the project.

ELIGIBLE PROJECTS / ITEMS

Eligible projects/items to be considered under the CFF Fit for Future Facilities Programme

✓ New or upgraded changing rooms and clubhouses; i.e. more female friendly and welcoming facilities including positive imagery separate changing for female referees etc.; Enabling community activity and partnerships that improve health and wellbeing;

✓ Small-sided artificial grass pitches – to support training, small-sided football matches, recreational and community use;

✓ Full-sized artificial grass pitches – underpinned by a business plan that secures community usage from local leagues and clubs in partnership with others i.e. local authorities, education providers and community partners;

✓ New or upgraded grass pitches – Grass Pitch Projects will be subject to a two-stage process.

Stage 1 – subject to panel approval, a grant will be awarded to supported projects to conduct further feasibility work to determine appropriate works and costs that will be taken to a second decision-making panel. Stage 2 – subject to panel approval, a grant will be awarded to support the project.

✓ LED Floodlights for artificial grass pitches ONLY;

Complementary items that will be considered alongside the above project/s:

✓ Accessibility – Lifts, ramps and indoor lighting upgrades;

✓ Storage spaces;

✓ Security fencing around the facility perimeter area;

✓ Grounds maintenance machinery;

✓ New goalposts;

✓ Portable floodlights for new or upgraded grass pitch projects;

Revenue costs where directly associated with the funded project delivery will be eligible i.e. feasibility reviews, industry accredited pitch consultants, architects, QS, engineers, lawyers, Sustainable

Drainage (SUDS) and planning fees
