Champion our Cause in the Community Volunteers

Could you raise awareness in your local community of the support and services offered by Tenovus cancer care? This might involve liaising with local GP surgeries or cancer services to share promotional materials, signpost individuals, or deliver talks. 

Would you enjoy being a part of our Community Engagement team?

What’s involved?

  • Working closely with your Community Engagement officer

  • Identify suitable locations/organisations/outlets for placement of Tenovus Cancer Care promotional materials

  • Host an information stand in various local venues and provide a warm welcome to people affected by cancer

  • Raise awareness of Tenovus Cancer Care services, taking referrals, or passing on messages, where appropriate

  • Provide feedback to Tenovus Cancer Care to better understand the needs and issues in the local community

  • If you are comfortable doing so, deliver short talks/presentations to small groups about our services

  • Someone with compassion, empathy and good listening skills with a positive and friendly outlook

  • Commitment to our cause and helping those affected by cancer

  • Welsh (desirable)

  • Driving Licence or willingness to travel by public transport to venues

Time commitment:  This is a time flexible opportunity.  Suggested minimum time commitment of 3 – 4 hours per week, negotiable with the organisation.
Expenses reimbursed:
Reasonable expenses are reimbursed in line with organisation policy.  If volunteering over 4 hours, a lunch expense will be reimbursed.
Training provided:
Full training and induction is provided
Selection procedure:
Informal discussion, application form completion, a disclosure and barring check (cost met by organisation).
