Bro Radio set to recognise the best of its local Community

As Bro Radio celebrates 15 years of serving the Vale of Glamorgan, the local radio station has announced that its bringing back its Community Awards to celebrate everything great about living, working and visiting the County it serves.

As announced on the station’s Vale Breakfast on Monday morning, the Community Awards will recognise the best of business, community, sport, volunteering and individuals across eleven award categories.

Residents are being given the opportunity to recognise a friend, colleague, neighbour, business, charity, club or group, whom you believe has made a positive impact on life in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Each of the finalists will be recognised at a black-tie event taking place at Penarth Pier Pavilion on Friday 7th June 2024.

Bro Radio's Community Awards have been sponsored by Chris Davies Estate Agents, the Vale's largest independent estate agent. 

On announcing the Awards, Andrew Fenton of Chris Davies Estate Agents said "We're not a big corporate, we're local and Vale of Glamorgan, so we want to do anything we can to support local charities, community groups and sports clubs wherever we can"

"We've found working with Bro Radio in the past very successful and this is a great opportunity for us to give back and recognise the people and things that make the Vale such a great place."

The ten award categories at Bro Radio's Community Awards are:

  • Teacher of the Year, sponsored by the Big Fresh Catering Company

  • Sports Club of the Year

  • Community group of the year, sponsored by Ogi

  • Business of the Year, sponsored by CJCH Solicitors

  • Entrepreneur of the Year, sponsored by Goodsheds

  • The Charity Award, sponsored by TL Computer Systems

  • Community Champion, sponsored by Thornton Travel

  • Triumph Over Adversity, sponsored by Specsavers.
