Good Place to Live: New Beginnings Fund.
From today, organisations across England and Wales can apply for funding through the Good Place to Live: New Beginnings Fund, Lloyds Bank Foundation’s first step in ensuring that everyone in England and Wales has a home that’s a good place to live.
The evidence is clear. When circumstances change, people are at a bigger risk of becoming homeless than at any other time. That’s why Lloyds Bank Foundation is backing local organisations that work to help people keep a safe place to call home and build a new beginning.
Through the New Beginnings Fund, the Foundation will support organisations that work with individuals who have been identified as most at risk of homelessness, including young people leaving care, domestic abuse survivors, prison leavers and when someone leaves the asylum system upon receiving the right to remain in the UK.
Community organisations are already providing vital services for people at these critical turning points and through this fund, the Foundation will stand alongside them, providing long-term, unrestricted funding and development support to help strengthen their impact and reach more people.
Through an £8 million investment, up to 50 community organisations preventing homelessness across England and Wales will:
Be supported for 4 years. Unrestricted grants of up to £200,000 over this time will give local organisations stability so that they can focus on the people in their communities
Benefit from extra tools and connections. Through development support, organisations will build their capacity and capability so that when the funding ends, they are able to move into the future and make a bigger impact than before
Have access to Lloyds Banking Group volunteers. Independent research shows that charities that benefit from the skills of Lloyds Banking Group colleagues grow significantly faster than those which don’t – 10.6% annually on average
