AIM Contactless Donations Grants - Wales

The Association of Independent Museums, funded by the Welsh Government’s Culture Division, are pleased to announce a new grant scheme to provide funding to purchase contactless donation points to Welsh museums. The grant scheme will enable eligible museums in Wales, to apply for capital funding to purchase a contactless donation point/s for use at their museum. The grant will also cover upgrades to electrical and Wi-Fi infrastructure, and one year of subscription fees/licences, to enable the collection and processing of the contactless payments. The maximum grant available is £4,000.00 pounds. Successful applicants will be paid in two installments of 50% on acceptance of the grant award and the balance due on completion.

How to apply

Welsh museums are invited to apply for funding through the online application form at this link AIM Contactless Donation Box Application Form - Wales. The deadline for applications to be received is 5pm on Friday 14 November 2025.

Restrictions

The funding cannot be used for:

• Revenue costs

• Rental of donation box equipment

• Updates to existing contactless donation box equipment

• The purchase of donation boxes without a contactless payment point

Licences/ subscription fees associated with running the equipment and processing of payments beyond one year

Eligible Expenditure

Capital costs only.
