Would you Like to Volunteer?
Some people like to be asked the question - Would you like to volunteer?
You may well have thought about volunteering, but are not sure how to go about it.
Perhaps you don’t know what activities are available to get involved in.
There are hundreds of volunteering opportunities across the Vale of Glamorgan. Whether you want to volunteer indoor or outdoor, there is plenty available for you.
You can see a range of volunteering opportunities on the volunteering page on this website.
This will provide you with a taster of the types of activities you can get involved in and there is a whole lot more available too.
Organisations are looking for volunteers to help and they do not want all of your time!
Some opportunities only ask for 1 hour per week, others a few hours or some a day per week, all negotiable with the organisation.
Whilst we are living within a cost of living crisis.
Most of our recruiting organisations will reimburse a travel expense to volunteers; so you are not out of pocket.
If you are claiming benefits.
You can volunteer whilst on benefits.
Do I need to have skills?
You do not need to have skills within the field of volunteering you choose. All organisations will provide volunteers with full training. Training will vary depending upon the nature of the volunteering opportunity.
