What is the “Shaping Services for the Future, Together” plan?

This plan will act as a roadmap for how Cardiff & Vale University Health Board will deliver all services for the next ten years. The plan will be co-produced with our local communities and be built on the values of inclusivity, honestly and consistency.

The plan will be designed to make sure people get the right care, in the right place, at the right time using the following five focus points:

•           Women and people registered as female at birth

•           Mental health

•           Planned care

•           Urgent care

•           Specialist & regional services

Why do we need the plan?

We know that the way people are using health services are changing. We have an ageing population, and people are dealing with much more complex health conditions. This means we need to make sure that our services can meet everyone’s needs and that we are making the best use of staff, buildings and technology.

How can I get involved with the development of the plan?

We want to give everyone that accesses health services in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan the chance to help us design the plan. If you want to get involved, you can:

•           Take part in a focus group on a particular chapter of the plan, or for the whole thing.

•           Fill in our survey.

•           Send your feedback in via email or give us a ring.

•           Listen to our recorded sessions all about the plan via our website and send us your comments afterwards.

•           If you are a part of a community group that you think would like to take part in the development of the plan, send us an email and we can organise to visit you.

It’s really important that we hear everyone’s voices from all parts of our community, so please get in touch and help us create a plan that meets your needs.
