Volunteer Publicity Officer – Raising the Organisation Profile

This organisation is looking for volunteers raise profile of Barry Beavers Disabled Swimming Club in the local community. By raising the profile of the club, you will attract new swimmers, more volunteers and attract more grant funding.

Tasks include:

  • Writing articles, press releases and social media posts

  • Advertising to the many schools and organisations in local area, that support people with disabilities

  • Organising and attending promotion events such as volunteer fayres

  • Planning publicity strategy and campaigns

  • Building relationships with local press, local politicians and local volunteer services

  • Dealing with enquires from the public

Time commitment: A suggested time commitment is around 3 hours per week. Flexible hours. Club meets at 3:30pm on Saturday, but attendance every week would be preferable but not mandatory.
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are NOT reimbursed
Training provided: Induction training, and other training provided as needs are identified.
Location: Home based. Club meets on a Saturday at Legacy Leisure Centre, greenwood Street, Barry CF63 4JJ
Selection procedure:  An informal discussion, application form completion, 2 references and a disclosure and barring check (cost met by organisations).
