Volunteer Secretary for Home Access Penarth
The Home Access Penarth Charity established in 1996, funded by the Welsh Government and Vale of Glamorgan Council are looking for a Volunteer Secretary to serve on the Trustees’ Committee.
Whilst the role involves minimal time commitment, the Volunteer Secretary is an incredibly important part of helping the charity run smoothly.
The role of the Secretary aged 18+ is to take care of the charity’s administration and includes the following:
Attend Trustee meetings, take the minutes and distribute them to the trustees
Send notice of Trustee meetings, compile the agenda, and make sure all required documentation is sent out with the agenda; including previous minutes, reports as required and any other documents needed for the meeting
Compile and maintain the entries on The Charity Commission and Companies House websites.
Produce the Annual Report for the charity
Send out the notice of AGM to all members and interested parties, including agenda, Annual Report and other relevant documents.
Keep an up-to-date list of members and their email contact details.
Home Access provides free support to those looking for accommodation. It can provide a bond up to the value of £650 to help secure a private tenancy, and provides ongoing support with housing matters, benefits and emergency funds.
Suggested weekly hours: Normally meet in January, May and September and our AGM in June at St Pauls Community Centre, Arcot St., Penarth.
Travel expenses: Unfortunately, travel expenses are not reimbursed
Training: Full training is provided.
