The Kitchen Table Charities Trust Grant

The Kitchen Table Charities Trust (KTCT) offers focused small grants of typically up to £6,000 to UK-registered charities or local organisations operating abroad, with an emphasis on sustainable, grassroots development

They support:

  • UK-charity or equivalent foreign-registered bodies.

  • Initiatives directly reaching the poorest populations—especially children and widows.

  • Organisations with transparent accounts (audited or independently examined) and regular communications (e.g., newsletters) that credit KTCT.

Prioritised project areas:

  • Primary education – essential repairs, classroom furniture, and school infrastructure.

  • Health & clean water – rainwater harvesting, sanitation, and storage.

  • Mother & child welfare – street child support, midwife training, maternal health.

  • Poverty alleviation – income‑generating projects like irrigation, grain storage, and subsistence farming

What’s not funded:

  • Administrative costs, staff salaries, advertising, vehicle or land purchase, food, medicine, transport, or general running costs.

  • Projects exceeding £6,000 or seeking partial funding for larger proposals via kitchentablecharities.org

Community engagement requirement:

KTCT expects beneficiary communities to contribute—via labour or materials—especially in infrastructure projects, ensuring local ownership and sustainability

How to apply:

Initial enquiries are emailed to the Committee Chair, Brian Donaldson, who volunteers his expertise to assess proposals
