Supporting Disabled Swimmers

Are you a compassionate person, interested in supporting children and adults with disabilities in the water?
We are looking for Halliwick trained volunteers to assist within our organisation.

Halliwick Association of swimming therapy has been in operation for over 70 years.  It is a proven concept supporting disabled adults and children to be safe and happy in the water. Your role would involve:

  •  Instructing and supporting both children and adults with disabilities to enjoy the water, safely and happily

  • To attend weekly club sessions (Saturdays 3.30pm to 5pm) at Barry Leisure Centre

You will be provided with full Halliwick training in order to participate as a Halliwick Swimming Therapy Instructor.

Due to the in-depth training and costings, we would like volunteers to commit for a minimum of 2 years to this opportunity.  This is negotiable with the organisation.

Time commitment: Time specific to a Saturday, 3:30 – 5pm
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are not reimbursed.
Training provided: Full Halliwick training is provided.
Selection procedures: An informal discussion, application form completion, 2 references and a disclosure and barring check (cost met by organisation).
If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact us using the form below.
