Santa's Cause is back for 2026!

For the fifth year, we’re coming together to make sure children and families supported by our Social Services teams can experience the joy and excitement of Christmas morning, regardless of the challenges they may be facing.

Every year we’re struck by the incredible response this campaign receives.  Businesses, community groups and residents across the Vale give what they can, and that generosity makes a very real difference to children and families who may otherwise miss out on some of the joy that many of us take for granted at Christmas.

It’s a wonderful example of the community spirit that makes us proud to call the Vale home.

For families already facing difficult circumstances, Christmas can bring additional pressure at a time when household budgets continue to be under significant pressure. Being able to give a child a present on their Christmas list might seem like a small thing, but it can mean an enormous amount to a family.

Our Social Services teams tell us what children are hoping Santa might bring, allowing us to put together individual gift bags that reflect their interests, personalities and wishes. It means that on Christmas morning, they have something that feels like it was chosen just for them, keeping the magic of Christmas alive.

This year, we want to reach every child supported by our teams and give them a Christmas to remember. Whether you can make a financial contribution, organise a workplace fundraiser, sponsor a number of gifts, or support us in another way, your involvement will make a real difference.

If you are able to support Santa’s Cause, you can make a donation online or get in touch with our team at santascause@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk to discuss other fundraising or gift-giving ideas.

We’re proud to celebrate the businesses and organisations that get behind Santa’s Cause. With your permission, we’ll thank and recognise our supporters through the Council’s social media channels and local press, giving us the chance to shine a light on the organisations helping to make Christmas brighter for children in the Vale.

We would also love to welcome you to the Civic Offices in the run-up to Christmas, where you can see our team of very busy elves preparing the gifts and experience first-hand what your support helps to make possible.

We know there are many demands on businesses and organisations, particularly at this time of year, so whatever you are able to give will be genuinely appreciated. And if you’ve supported Santa’s Cause before, thank you for helping us make it such a special part of Christmas in the Vale.

With your support, we can make sure that every child supported through Santa's Cause receives a gift chosen especially for them this Christmas. We hope you'll join us in making that possible.

With warmest wishes,
