Rainbow Pooch Pride is Recruiting - Social Walk Lead – Newport

Do you love dogs and want to help build a welcoming, inclusive community?

Rainbow Pooch Pride is looking for a passionate, community-minded Social Walk Lead to establish and grow our LGBTQIA+ community in Newport. You’ll lead monthly Rainbow Pooch in the Park walks, support local Pride events, and create safe, inclusive, accessible and substance-free spaces where LGBTQIA+ people and their dogs can connect and thrive. We’re looking for someone with practical experience working with dogs, confidence leading groups, an understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment, and a demonstrable commitment to LGBTQIA+ inclusion, accessibility, and canine welfare. Additional training will be provided.

The role: Training starts in December 2026, with the first walk in January 2027, followed by monthly walks on the second Sunday through to June 2027. The role is initially funded through a pilot project, with the potential to continue beyond June 2027, subject to funding. We’re keen to hear from someone who wants to help build a lasting community and grow with us.

Pay: £15 per hour for event delivery, training, meetings, and administration.

How to apply: Please read the Job Description and Person Specification, then send your CV and a covering letter to hello@rainbowpoochpride.com, outlining your suitability for the role, relevant experience, motivation for joining Rainbow Pooch Pride, and why you’d like to help establish and grow our Newport community.

Closing date: Midnight on Sunday 15 November 2026. Please note: We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applications.
