Join us, we're hiring - Carers Activity and Engagement Coordinator with Cardiff and Vale Parents Federation
Cardiff and the Vale Parents’ Federation is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and proactive individual to join our team as an Unpaid Carers Activities and Engagement Coordinator.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, building community connections, and creating meaningful opportunities that support unpaid carers and families of people with learning disabilities.
We are looking for someone who is approachable, organised, and passionate about bringing people together. The successful candidate will help develop and deliver a varied programme of activities and engagement opportunities designed to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and ensure unpaid carers feel supported, valued, and connected.
The role includes organising activities and events, engaging with schools and community organisations, supporting outreach work, promoting activities online and within the community, and helping evaluate the impact of our work.
This is a highly people-focused role and would suit someone with a warm, outgoing, and positive personality who enjoys meeting others and creating welcoming environments where carers feel comfortable and included. The successful candidate will also help encourage and support volunteers to become involved in activities and events, helping strengthen community connections and peer support opportunities for unpaid carers.
About Us
Cardiff and the Vale Parents’ Federation is a long-established charity supporting unpaid carers and families of people with learning disabilities across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
We work closely with local authorities, schools, statutory services, third-sector organisations, and community partners to improve support, opportunities, and inclusion for unpaid carers and their families.
We are looking for someone who:
Enjoys working directly with people and within the community
Is friendly, approachable, and confident communicating with others
Has strong organisational and engagement skills
Understands the challenges faced by unpaid carers
Can work independently and as part of a team
Is enthusiastic about making a positive difference
Experience within community work, wellbeing services, social care, education, or the third sector would be beneficial. Access to a vehicle for work purposes or ability to travel independently with equipment is essential.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive pre-employment screening process will be undertaken, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
