Future Generations Report 2025

The Future Generations Report is designed to support politicians and public body leaders in making life better for people and planet now and in the future.

This report is based on extensive evidence, research and analysis and engagement with hundreds of representatives from organisations and communities across Wales. It includes findings and statutory advice to Public Bodies. The Future Generations Commissioner will work with Public Bodies to ensure that the recommendations in the report are implemented. 

Without urgent action to address the climate and nature emergency, growing inequality and other long-term trends, we will be on track for an unrecognisable future, where the choices we have taken before us today are taken away, or made more difficult than we could ever imagine.  

Our Well-being of Future Generations Act provides us with a pathway for improving lives now and in the future so that when people ask what we did to make Wales and the world better we can say we did everything we could.
