The ReBuild Project based at our CF61 centre in Llantwit Major have a number of volunteering opportunities available, including:
Helping at Food Share: To lay out, give out, package and clear up food at the weekly Food Share.
Time commitment and details: You will be part of a volunteer rota for the weekly Thursday 11.30am till 3pm sessions (these times include set up and clear up time). Full training and PPE provided.
Food Share Pick-up Driver: To pick up food items from various supermarkets and other food providers.
Time Commitment and details: Wednesday evening, Thursday morning and afternoon (times negotiated with the organisation). Training given, PPE provided and travel expenses are reimbursed.
Community Garden Volunteering
Role: Working alongside Plant Llantwit members taking part in a range of community based, horticultural activities – helping out at the community allotment, taking part in work at the community orchard, tree planting, being involved in the creation of a community garden at the CF61 community Centre. No particular skills/knowledge needed.Time commitment and details: Flexible. Ideally a few hours a week. Negotiable with organisation.
Lead Community Gardening Volunteer
Support and mentor a small group of volunteers to work alongside Plant LLantwit members and take up community gardening opportunities.
Help volunteers make initial contact and settle in to the volunteering role.
Check in with them that they are comfortable with what they are doing.
Be a link between volunteers and Plant LLantwit.
Particularly lead on the creation of a community garden at the CF61 community centre. Also to seek funding and training opportunities and network with support organisations such as Social Farms and Gardens.
Would Suit someone: Keen to lead on a community gardening project with horticultural skills. With experience working with volunteers. With group facilitation/mentoring skills.
