The Amelia Trust Farm just off the 5 mile lane in Barry have opportunities for volunteers aged 21+

Conservation Volunteers: This role involves volunteering with the young people who attend the farm.  You would:

Assist with wildlife surveys.  This may include bird surveys, newt surveys, vegetation surveys, animal tracking etc.  Help to improve habitats around the farm.  This may include habitat maintenance such as grass cutting, tree felling, invasive species removal.

Maintenance Volunteer Assistant:  To provide maintenance such as basic repair, painting and decorating to the infrastructure of the site including:

Buildings including bunkhouse, offices, sports hall, independent living centre, classrooms, music studio, café, pottery studio and meeting rooms. Animal pens and paddocks.  Public areas.  Pathways

There is no public transport to the farm.

Time commitment: Variable depending on the opportunity and negotiable with the organisation
Travel expenses: Travel expenses are not reimbursed.
Training provided: Full training is provided.
Selection procedures: An informal discussion, application form completion, references and a disclosure and barring check.
