Volunteers aged 18+ are required to pick up the delivery at Safer Wales, Cardiff and deliver to areas such as Cardiff, Newport, Vale, Swansea, Bridgend, Merthyr, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
You would use your own vehicle for this opportunity and will need to provide vehicle details, including car model, license plate number, drivers’ license number and a photo of the driving license
Face masks and hand sanitisers will be provided to those who will be delivering food packages, as will social distancing.
Safer Wales Volunteering Service supports Safer Wales projects in helping victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and sexual exploitation. For the last 20 years we have been working with victims of domestic violence, rape, sexual abuse, exploitation and hate crime. In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Safer Wales have received funding from the Moondance foundation to deliver food parcels to the most vulnerable during these difficult times until October 31st (subject to funding).
Time commitment: A suggested weekly minimum commitment to the project of one morning/afternoon a week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). A day can consist of delivery hours between 9am and 5pm, negotiable with the organisation.
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Training provided: Volunteers will receive all necessary support and information through e-mail, telephone and zoom meetings including an induction as face to face training is unable to take place.
