WaterAid Volunteer Speakers inspire and engage local groups and schools about the importance of clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene

Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene are basic human rights and crucial for overcoming poverty. Basic human rights a normal part of daily life for everyone, everywhere, but they aren’t.

Water Aid Speakers are trained volunteers that deliver inspiring talks and workshops across the UK, to raise awareness about the importance of clean water, decent toilet and good hygiene, to transform peoples’ lives for good.  Speaking with schools, universities, businesses, youth groups, religious places of worship, service organisation and many more community groups.

You would provide talks or workshops where possible on key days, including World Water day, World Toilet Day, Menstrual Hygiene Day and/or Global Hand washing Day.  You will also make use of the latest public speaking resources (such as PowerPoint presentations) included in the Speaker
e-newsletter, emails and online platform.

Time commitment:  A suggested time commitment is to provide a minimum of four talks or workshops per year and where possible on the key days.
Expenses reimbursed: Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
Training provided: Full training is provided including public speaking and 1-2-1 support
Selection procedures: An informal discussion, application form completion and references will be required.
