Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Community Health Council

What is the Community Health Council? Community Health Councils (CHCs) represent the independent voice of patients and the public who use health service in Wales. CHCs play an important role in influencing the way that health services are planned and delivered, to ensure the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes for the patients and public of Wales.

The Vale of Glamorgan has two Third Sector Community Health Council Members, Pat Matthews and Moawia Bin Sufyan, nominated via GVS. Their role is to support the Community Health Council in its work and bring a third sector perspective. They attend CHC meetings, monitoring visits and contribute to consultations and events.

Please do not hesitate to contact your local CHC Member if you wish to know more about their work and provide them with third sector perspectives. Please bear in mind that they may not always be able to deal with all enquiries or take forward specific issues relating to your organisation. For further information, visit the website

If you would like more information about the role, please contact Linda Pritchard at GVS using the form below.
