New car parking app introduced to five locations

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has introduced a new parking payment service to five sites around the County Car parks at Harbour Road and Nell’s Point on Barry Island will benefit from the system as well as Rivermouth and Brig Y Don in Ogmore and Cymlau in Southerndown. Using a specially-designed app, created by PayByPhone, users can purchase parking reliably and quickly from their mobile phone.

Bro Radio continues supporting local groups across the County

Bro Radio, the local community radio station for the Vale of Glamorgan is continuing to provide free opportunities to local groups to promote their work to listeners and readers across the County. As well as providing 120 hours of volunteer led radio each week - the station also has the largest social media following of any media organisation based in the County, with over 30,000 readers accessing local news and information via its website every month.

Finance Committee launches consultation

The Finance Committee has launched its consultation on Welsh Government’s draft Budget priorities for 2021-22. WCVA is keen to hear from as many sector voices as possible in drafting its response. We have created this survey based on the consultation questions. It would be great to hear your thoughts on how the upcoming draft Budget can support the sector in the next financial year – a year which is likely to be critical for the sector. Vale Council investment for Barry, Penarth, Cowbridge & Llantwit Major

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has agreed a package of investment to support the recovery of our town centres in Barry, Cowbridge, Llantwit Major and Penarth, following a meeting on September 21, 2020. The investment of over £400,000 will help deliver measures that facilitate trade and economic recovery; and, provide a safer and more welcoming environment for visitors, shoppers and workers within our town centres.

Our Olympic Style Air Gun Club was formed in June 2012 it was then called LS.HAVEN AIR TARGET CLUB Then January 1st 2019 we renamed it BARRY AIR TARGET CLUB We have about 20 members from the age of 10 accompanied by Dad or Mum or and adult Then 12 year olds upwards can attend unaccompanied.
