We are piloting an exercise programme to help people with Parkinson’s to try something new by exploring the benefits of low impact chairs based exercises.
We need volunteers to help make our exercise programme a success.
This is a new volunteer role being offered by Parkinson’s UK to support our pioneering work to reach out and support people living with Parkinson’s in areas across South Wales. Volunteers have always been an integral part of our work and this role will help us increase local support to people living with Parkinson’s.
As you would be leading the class you would have the opportunity to bring your individuality and enthusiasm to the sessions.
You would be essential ain creating a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere to anyone attending ensuring they are comfortable and get the most out of each session. You would ensure the room is set up appropriately, left in an appropriate condition and take the register of participants.
If you feel more comfortable delivering the session with another volunteer, then this can be arranged.
Sessions are being held on a weekly basis for an hour in Cardiff.
Time commitment: A suggested time commitment of 1 – 2 hours per week, negotiable with the organisation.
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Training provided: Full training is provided – 4 day LIFT training course.
Selection procedures: An informal discussion and references will be required.
Please provide the name of the organisation and opportunity title if you are interested in this opportunity. Please contact us using the form below.
