The aim here is to develop and promote a positive relationship with a matched service user for visits or to support them to partake in activities within the community. Duties would include:
- Making regular phone contact for updates on the service user and their welfare
- Familiarising with the service user and meeting for a chat
- Helping service users new to the area to familiarise with local facilities such as shops and accompanying them on initial visits (this will be for a limited number of times to encourage independence and could also introduce and take to, if required, the food bank
Time commitment: A suggested weekly time commitment is 2 – 3 hours, negotiable with the organisation.
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Training provided: Full training is provided.
Selection procedures: An informal discussion, application form completion, references and a disclosure and barring check will be required (cost met by organisation).
