Peer Support is all about bringing people with diabetes together in their local area to share experiences of living with the condition and to get practical tips from each other about how to live well.
We are aiming to work with local GP surgeries to create a number of peer support groups which will be led by the peer support facilitator. These groups can also be set up in different settings i.e. universities, workplaces.
These volunteers are people like you, with lived experience of diabetes who can organise the sessions, facilitate group discussion and signpost people to useful services and information in their locality.
Diabetes UK Cymru is focusing a lot of their work on peer support in 2018 and to make it a success. We need people like you!
The time commitment is flexible and negotiable with the organisation.
Full training is provided and travel expenses are reimbursed.
An informal discussion, completed application form and references will be required.
